Our Doctor / Team
Neil Berman, D.D.S.

Dr. Neil graduated from the State University of New York at Albany in 1987 and entered Stony Brook Dental School immediately thereafter. He graduated at the top of his class in 1991 and took a hospital-based General Practice Residency position at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, Long Island. He is now a teacher and faculty member on staff at the hospital, and directs the cosmetic and restorative clinic on Thursdays.
It was at North Shore University Hospital that Dr. Neil was able to perfect and develop so many of the skills that allow him to feel comfortable treating all types of patients and dental conditions. As a result of his training, Dr. Neil works extensively with patients that require full mouth rehabilitation, utilizing various modalities such as lasers, implants, computer analyses, and digital and cosmetic imaging. Dr. Neil also has additional training in implant surgery and restorations from a two year certificate program at NYU Dental School.
Dr. Neil takes pride in maintaining the highest standards of care by attending continuing dental education courses throughout the year. Dr. Neil has completed a rigorous continuum at the L.D. Pankey Institute spanning many weeks of study over nine years, where full mouth rehabilitation and occlusion have been mastered. Attendance at these courses allows him to perfect his skills in oral rehabilitation and patient care. The Pankey Institute has taught Dr. Neil how to care for his patients on a one-to-one basis, developing relationships for a lifetime.
Dr. Neil Berman is the son of Dr. Ken Berman. Dr. Neil and Dr. Ken practiced together from 1992 until 2004, when Dr. Ken retired.
Dr. Neil has three children and a wonderful wife, Beth, who can be found working at the office. He enjoys golfing, exercising, and spending time with his family.
Dr. Neil enjoys lecturing to local study clubs as well as giving presentations to children at our local schools, especially during National Dental Health Month, which occurs in February. He can also be found lecturing to other dentists, local health-related groups, or at medical/dental fairs.

Beth – Office Manager
I have been working with my wonderful husband for the past 19 years. Even though we spend most of our day in the same location, we still have plenty to talk about during the off hours. Being involved in the office is quite rewarding and I still marvel at the amazing dentistry we are constantly performing. Our team is truly an extended family. I enjoy spending time with my three children and practicing yoga. I am also involved in the kids’ school boards and our synagogue.
Gina – Marketing Manager
I have been working for Dr. Neil for the past 17 years. My husband, Patrick, and I have three children, Ryan, Kailey and Connor. I enjoy doing activities with my family, and of course, shopping! I love the beach and reading a great book! I am very family oriented and that is why I enjoy working at Smiles 4 A Lifetime. That is how it feels at work, like we are a family and will take care of our patients like they are our family.
Elyse – Dental Hygienist
I was born and raised on Long Island and have lived in the Five Towns for over 20 years. I met my husband, Morey, at the gym where he became my trainer and inspiration to compete in bodybuilding competitions in the 1980s. There I won the titles of Ms. Empire State and Ms. East Coast. I now reside in Hewlett, where my son and daughter attended high school. I have been a dental hygienist for 32 years and have been with Dr. Neil since 2004. Not only do I enjoy helping my patients obtain a smile for a lifetime, but I also like to share my wealth of information on nutrition, health, and fitness. When not in the office, you can probably find me at the gym or on the tennis courts.
Mary – Dental Hygienist
I grew up on the south shore of Long Island and married a city boy. I now live in Queens. We have two cats that I consider my children. I graduated from SUNY Farmingdale with a degree in Dental Hygiene. I have worked for Dr. Neil for 20 years and I love my patients. In my spare time, I love to spend time outdoors, hiking, or at the beach.
Lindsey – Dental Hygienist
I grew up in Upstate New York near the Adirondack Mountains. I moved to Rochester for college, where I obtained my degree in Dental Hygiene. Currently, I reside in Long Beach, in an apartment on the beach with my English bulldog, Sophie. When I have free time I love to travel, ski, teach figure skating, go to the beach, and spend time with my family and friends. One of my favorite aspects of my profession is educating my patients so they can better understand how to keep their smile beautiful and healthy.
Christine – Dental Assistant
My name is Christine and I have been a dental assistant for three years. I have been working for Dr. Berman since March of 2010. I graduated from Molloy College with a BA in Criminal Justice. I am the youngest of four siblings. During my down time I love to read and go shopping. One of my favorite authors is Jodi Picoult. I also love to spend time with my family and friends.
Nancy – Dental Assistant
I have been working in the dental field for 6 years. I just recently joined Smiles 4 A Lifetime, after being in Endodontics. I love learning about General Dentistry and all that we can offer patients. On the weekends, I attend school for fashion design. On my free time, not there is much of it, I like to spend time with my husband and my parrot, Peaches.
Doriana Berry – Administrative Assistant
