Tooth-colored Fillings/Bonding. Dark, unsightly areas of metal, stain or old bonding can detract from what otherwise might be a perfect set of teeth. Tooth-colored resin fillings can make a tooth look like new, whether they are used for small areas of decay or to replace current fillings. We do not and have not placed silver fillings for over 10 years.

Tooth Whitening/Bleaching products brighten teeth that have been stained or darkened by food, tobacco use, age or injury. The ZOOM2 Chairside System is currently employed as our one-visit tooth-whitening option as well as take-home trays that you keep for years of touch-up. Ask us about our new DEEP BLEACHING TECHNOLOGY which will get your teeth as white as possible for even longer-lasting results.

Porcelain Veneers are very thin, tooth-colored shells that are custom-fit and bonded to the front sides of teeth to close gaps, cover stains and discolorations, and correct chipped or misshapen teeth to give you a bright, even, attractive smile. ** Ask for a computer-assisted smile analysis or a mock-up of your own teeth to preview your new smile. With modern preparation technology, minimal or no enamel is removed to create this beautiful, natural, long-lasting smile. **

Dental Implants

The healthiest thing to do when you lose a tooth is have it replaced. Otherwise, you risk problems with biting, chewing and speaking, headaches, muscle pain and an unattractive appearance.

Dental implants serve as the base for many tooth-replacement options, including bridges, dentures and individual artificial teeth. Implants are surgically placed in the jaw to provide a comfortable, secure fit and a natural look. The teeth are built on top of them, restoring the same teeth that were lost.

Almost everyone is a candidate for implant dentistry, regardless of age or medical history. Dental implants can truly change your life, because now complete full dentures and removable partial dentures are a thing of the past.

Comprehensive Dental Exams. Routine dental exams for new and current patients are an important part of maintaining oral health. Exams detect problems before you notice any symptoms. A dental "physical exam" consists of radiographs, diagnostic photography, study casts, full head/neck exam, and tooth, gum, muscle and jaw joint exam.

Preventive Dentistry. Good oral hygiene and regular dental examinations are essential in the prevention and early detection of problems such as gum disease, tooth loss and tooth decay. The old adage, "visit your dentist twice a year" is no longer the standard. Every patient has different needs and we can discuss yours with you during your consultation.

Geriatric Dentistry. Thanks to modern dental technology and better education, our older and adult patients are keeping their own teeth longer than ever before. Older patients often suffer from a number of dental problems, including discoloration and weak or missing teeth. There are many treatments available for problems that affect the elderly, including bleaching and cosmetic restorations for stained or misshapen teeth; dental implants, dentures and partial dentures to replace missing teeth; and various treatment modalities to address oral dryness, often a side effect of many medications.

Pediatric Dentistry. We encourage discussions and unofficial visits of children 1-2 years old to help acclimate them to our friendly and caring service. Your child should have a scheduled appointment between his or her 2nd and 3rd birthdays, and check-ups should be scheduled about every six months after that. During these appointments, we will talk with you about your child's oral health and hygiene, including teething, fluoride, brushing and flossing, cavities, sealants and orthodontics.

Periodontics (Gum Disease). Periodontal or gum disease is an infection of the tissues that surround and support your teeth. In the early stage of gum disease, also called gingivitis, gums may become red and swollen and bleed easily; in the more advanced stage, called periodontal disease, teeth can loosen and fall out. We help our patients from the very beginning, educating them to maintain healthy oral tissues. Ask us about Arestin, which can be gently placed into gum pockets to decrease periodontal disease by shrinking tissue and killing bacteria. This new technology may keep you from having to see a periodontal surgeon.

Endodontics (Root Canal). Root canals can prevent tooth decay and loss when the pulp (soft core of the tooth that provides nutrients) is damaged due to bacterial infection in a deep cavity, crack or other problem. Despite its reputation as a painful ordeal, a root canal is actually not very uncomfortable. During the procedure, the damaged pulp is removed, the root canal is cleaned and sealed off, and a crown is bonded to the tooth to maintain strength.

Oral Surgery. Improperly erupted wisdom teeth have the potential to damage nearby teeth, bone and roots, and invite bacterial infection, which in turn leads to pain, swelling, jaw stiffness and other problems. Removal is swift and effective.

Orthodontics (Limited). Common orthodontic problems, or malocclusions, that require treatment include crooked teeth, crowding, spacing, protruding upper teeth, overbite, underbite, open bite and crossbite. Treatment is designed to help the patient both aesthetically (by improving the smile) and functionally (by improving the bite). Invisalign, a relatively new technology, allows us to use aligners instead of metal brackets and wires to straighten teeth. We are a certified provider of Invisalign.

Crowns are used to strengthen and improve the shape, size or color of teeth. They can support broken or weak teeth or those with large fillings; provide a smooth, strong, attractively contoured surface for stained, misshapen or otherwise abnormal teeth; and aid in the implantation of bridges and other implants. Crowns can be made out of all ceramic material or with gold underneath for added strength. See before-and-after photos of Crowns >>

Bridges are natural-looking tooth replacements which help maintain facial structure, reduce stress on the jaw and fill in the gaps caused by missing teeth. Bridges may be made of porcelain, gold, alloys or a combination of these. Removable bridges can be taken out and cleaned at home, while fixed bridges can be implanted in the jaw or bonded to the teeth with crowns or caps.

Inlays and onlays are solid fillings used to restore damaged or decayed teeth. They are often needed when there is not enough healthy tissue left in the tooth to support a regular filling. We provide esthetic porcelain restorations as well as gold where indicated.

Special Services

Minimally-Invasive Micro-Dentistry with Air Abrasion (Instead of Drilling). One of the more exciting developments in dentistry is that of minimally invasive, air-abrasion technology. Equipment featuring pulsed or continuous air flow allows procedures to be performed with no pain or bleeding. Minimally invasive techniques also make it possible for dentists to save more of the patient's healthy tooth structure.

Nitrous Oxide. Nitrous oxide is available for patients who are nervous, sensitive, or wish to have extensive dental work completed in a single visit. The patient first breathes pure oxygen through a mask or tub. Nitrous oxide is slowly added to the oxygen, helping the patient feel more comfortable and relaxed during the procedure. When completed, the flow of air is reversed to reoxygenate at 100% O2.

Sedation & General Anesthesia. Patients who require general anesthesia or conscious sedation are welcome. We employ the service of a licensed anesthesiologist who will remain in the treatment room during your entire visit, allowing your dentist to perform your procedure in a caring, safe and effective environment. This is a wonderful service to help phobic or highly anxious patients rest comfortably.
